Family – Davalliaceae. Genus of approximately 30 types of evergreen or semi-evergreen, epiphytic and terrestrial ferns from rainforest plus more available habitats in warm and subtropical territories throughout the world. They are Ferns that happen to be discovered crazy in many tropical locations, which includes Africa, the United States, Malaya, and the To the west Indies. The most common are the types of N. exaltata, a herb that grows crazy from Florida southward into Brazil and in Africa and eastern Asia. This Fern makes fronds, 3-5 ft. Long and two-6 in. Large. They have tough midribs which can be covered with fine brownish hairs and also the leaflets (pinnae), which are about half a ” broad, are positioned firmly along either side of your midrib. There are many pretty types of N. exaltata. One popular form is N. exaltata Bostonians, the Boston Fern, which includes extended, stylish, drooping fronds. The fronds of N. exaltata Pierson, N. exaltata Piersoni enhanced, and N. exaltata massive are bipinnate–which is, all the tiny leaflets are divided into sectors, creating a feathery look. Some fronds are tripinnate, which gives them more of a fine, feathery seem compared to the bipinnate sorts. These Ferns require a bare minimum temperature of 55-60 F and a fairly humid environment.

Plant growth conditions

Medium heat. Good indirect gentle may be the appropriate place – an east- or north-going through windowsill is perfect.

Rich compost has to be stored wet at all times rather than allowed to dry out. Misting is important.

The best approach is to divide the herb at the beginning of early spring. Sow spores at 70 F (21 C) as soon as ripe
