Paphiopedilum

Paphiopedilum: Identification, plant Growth and reproduction

Learn about the plant

Paphiopedilum is a genus around 60 varieties of evergreen, occurring from India to Asia, S.E.Asia, and Papua New Guinea. Paphiopedilums are divided into two teams, the beautiful and cozy-developing, mottled-leaved kind, along with the cool-expanding, eco-friendly leaved kind. The rose is wax-like with a prominent pouch and dorsal sepal. Commonly called the Lady Slipper Orchid.

Plant growth conditions

It is Intermediate developing orchids. They might require a minimum night time temperature of 55°F to 60°F. Time temps should range between 70°F to 80°F. Humidity should be modest, 40Per40Per cent to 50Per cent is enough. Avoid the primary sun, other than in the early morning or late mid-day. Paphs are deficient light plants and flowers and need to increase inside a well-shaded atmosphere.

Focus on a damp media, not washing, and do not allow the garden soil blend to dry up entirely between waterings. Tend not to mist.

Plant reproduction

More mature sections often separate when getting repotted. One plant might be segregated off when new progress starts.
